Greetings, everyone! Hope all is well on this fine May day!
I’m due to post for this month since this May is wrapping up this Friday, so I’m updating today but with a twist…
I have quite a few pieces that have not been uploaded here including some for this month and the tail end of last month. Since there is so many (to the point that it might bog down the speed of this post), I’m going to put the link to my artsy tumblr. It has all the pieces from since then; including the ones that have not been seen here.
My art tumblr is here: Jackie’s Art Tumblr Blog
Please click the link to go to the Tumblr. To see pictures, please click on the thumbnails. The theme allows users to finger through each “stack” by dragging the mouse while holding onto the picture. It’s similar to shuffling a stack or photos.:)
Next month, I’ll put a normal post up since when summer coming, I can better pace my art flow more.
Have a great night, everyone, and Happy Tuesday/Wednesday!:)
March’s Arts!
25 Mar

Hello, and happy Spring, everyone!
I’m updating for this month right before the month ends. It sure has gone fast. I’m constantly amazed how quickly that this year has already flown by. It feels like December 31st of last year was just yesterday!
Anyways, here’s some drawings that I’ve done this month other than some sketches in my sketchbooks. Not too bad considering the amount of craziness that has happened over the past few weeks.
Both are based in the same universe. The first is based on a scene that’s been in my head for a bit. Both girls are gifted in elemental magic — the one on the left with plant magic and the one on the right with fire magic. There’s more to the story but to simply put it, it’s a rivalry that turns into a good friendship later on.
The second one is another quick vector doodle/character portrait. It’s somewhat based on that Bubble Girl drawing I uploaded here a few posts back. This girl here who is named Amaryllis is queen of a kingdom that is in the same world as the two other girls. Like the two others, she is gifted in elemental magic — water magic. She’ll probably meet those two later on as well.:)
Well, that’s it for the moment. Not too much, but I’m still a-drawing!
Talk to you all later! Happy Sunday/Monday, everyone!:D
So many colors!
21 JanGreetings, friends! Hope you’re all having a wonderful day!
Just another update! Over the past few weeks I’ve been experimenting with colors/different color palettes and patterns. The drawings here are the some of the fruits of my labor towards this experimentation.
Both pictures are featuring characters that are referred to as mystical/mythological characters in my ever expanding cast of monsters and creatures that frequent here. The first one is a type of water deity. I did want her to have a more full figure since I feel like not many of my girls have that surprisingly. Also, I haven’t chosen a name for her yet, so if anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears!
The second one will actually have a second part to it in a different variation later on I’m thinking about. This colorful lady has many names and titles from the Queen of the Underworld, the Mistress of the Five Eyed Spirits, the Seamstress of Life, or just simply Persephone. She answers to all of them. (And yes, she has the same name as the Greek goddess for a reason, and yes, I know she’s not wearing Greek clothing; there’s a reason for that, too.:) ) Once I get it drawn, her husband, the King of the Underworld, Nathander, will be added to the drawing. Can’t wait until he gets drawn out.:)
Whelp, that’s it for now. Will update soon with more fun little doodles and drawing experiments. Happy Monday, everyone!:D
Old Art, New Art
19 NovHello, all! Hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the weekend.
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but I’m finally back!
It’s been crazy with my work to the point of exhaustion, but I have enough energy to post today!
First things first, the first two pieces may look a bit familiar to those that may frequent this blog…a few months ago (in the summer), I did two pieces for an artbook that is being created on the art community called deviantART for charity. Last week, I was finally given the clearance to post the full pieces.
The first one is called Almost Midnight Sky. It features my Goddess of Night/Dark riding on top of one of her shadow creature friends through a city. She is scattering the stars in the night sky; she often works with the God of Sun/Light who I need to do a decent picture of as well.:P
The second piece was one that came harder to me, but once it got going, it was fun. This is called Firefly Seekers. It features a group of children and two light spirits capturing a flock of fireflies for light.
The third piece is not for the artbook…but, a piece that I have been working on over the last few days.
Art block is something that has plaguing me over the last few months since I graduated last year, but I’m trying to get through it. I think it might be linked to the fact that I had grown accustomed to being given assignments, so I must find and make my own project. This piece is a part of a large group of a project that I’m aiming for…most of the drawings with my monster creatures are in fact.
Anyways, this lady is the Queen of the Northern Wall — Queen Virga. (That is her working name for now.)
The Kingdom of the Northern Wall (or Northern Wall Kingdom) in this world I’m creating is in the far North full of tundras, ice, and snow. The entire kingdom is encircled by a large wall, within it is where the kingdom’s inhabitants live. Their ruler, Queen Virga, (the kingdom is only ruled by a queen, so no king is in the picture now since Virga is still a young woman) is seen by many as a physical incarnation of the North Wind Spirit due to her powerful abilities to control the weather, mainly through elemental fairies such as those snow fairies above.
I do have a few more rulers to do pictures for, but those will be pieces that I will create in the future. Many of them are strong female rulers since I feel like there are not as many in history.:)
I was influenced by several things in creating this piece including art from the Avatar/Legend of Korra series(es), Mucha, and this upcoming movie called Rise of the Guardians. If you haven’t already, totally check out a trailer from that! It looks awesome!
Well, that’s it for now! Will update more when I can!
Talk to you all later! Happy Sunday/Monday, everyone!:)
Monster Mash!
7 OctHello, all! Happy Sunday and Monday!
Just another update today. I wanted to share this Halloween illustration I did. Halloween is such an awesome holiday, and it gives me an opportunity to play around with some of my characters and their designs. Not like Halloween should be your only excuse to draw monster-creatures. They’re always fun to doodle.
Anyways, I’ve been wanting to draw a music centered piece, so this came out of that. It features a monster band led by a pink haired little devil girl and a green haired boogie monster along with their friends, a pair of cyclops twins, a monster that never takes his skull mask off, and a spider drummer! What an interesting group, right?XD
As well as playing music, they love to solve mysteries on the side. Think of the mystery genre-campy cartoons like Scooby Doo, but with real monsters (solving those mysteries), and that’s what you get.lol
Well, that’s it for the moment. Just wanted to share that with you.
I will post more here when I can. Talk to everyone later. Have a great day!
Happy Fall!
29 SepHello, everyone! Happy Friday to all, and if tomorrow is here for you already, Happy Saturday then!
I’m updating again since I’m finally back drawing again. It has been busy like crazy on my end. So far, so good though. I have been getting used to my office job. It’s been crazy, and I’ve made a few mistakes, but nothing too major. Plus, it seems that most people there like me, so awesome!:)
Anyways, here is a small doodle that I vectored from a sketch of one of my sketchbooks. I’m carrying two around with me currently for some reason, but I think that works better when I get stuck with one. It’s a good way to get rid of that frustrating vibe.
The doodle here is based on the first day of fall/autumn. It started for the Northern Hemisphere this past Saturday, so I decided to do something based on it. If you click the image at the top, it will start moving (blinking and the birds’ wings flap a bit) on another page. This might be something that I might try a bit more; something that will get more complex over time. It’s something to think into. Here’s the flat version as well:
Well, that’s it for the moment. I will update again when I can.
Happy Fall, everyone!
